Behind the Scenes
As an interior designer and consultant, I partner closely with my clients to create innovative environments that thoughtfully respond to their strategic branding, cultural, and operational objectives. My knowledge and diversified expertise add tangible value across workplace, hospitality, residential, and public sector projects.
I approach each project by developing a deep, intrinsic understanding of my clients. For residential projects, this means carefully considering their needs, requirements, and ways of living. For commercial projects, I immerse myself in the client’s strategic business plan and marketing objectives. These insights directly inform the programming, planning, and design process for every project type.
Creating safe environments is a fundamental part of my practice. The health and wellbeing of occupants, along with the conditions of each space, are carefully considered throughout the design process, with the aim of preventing illness and injury wherever possible.
Alongside spatial safety is my strong commitment to sustainability. This involves taking responsibility for the specification of products and materials that cause as little environmental harm as is practicable, while supporting long-term performance and wellbeing.
I am a member of the New Zealand Green Building Council (NZGBC) and one of its founding Accredited Professionals. I am also a Research Collaborator with the global Building Biology & Ecology Institute and a member of the BioBased Build Network.
In addition, I am a member of the Designers Institute of New Zealand (DINZ) and the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC).
