Wadestown Kitchen & Dining

The original kitchen was dark and gloomy and squeezed into a small space with a wall separating it from the dining space.

The client wanted to make reference to the character and era of the house while opening it up and making it light and bright.

The kitchen obtained a lot more space by the removal of the laundry from the kitchen space.

Natural materials were used and a palette put together that would reflect the house and the client themselves being the dwellers.

The wall dividing the kitchen & dining room was demolished with many complications due to electrical mains and being load-bearing. New beams were put up and an 'island' was put in place that included pull-out under bench pantries, pull-out bin and display cabinetry.

The finishing touch was Scandanavian style pendant light fittings over the dining table and 'island'.
